2006 Season Pictures

The biggame hunting season is well under way here at the Rockin’ 7 Ranch. We’ve had some great hunts, and even greater stories, from the 15 shot antelope hunt to the 4 coyotes coming in and attacking Danny’s dieing rabbit blues that he had practiced endlessly. We are anticipating several more hunts, so please come back often and check the new pictures. Oct. 9, 2006

We are just about wrapping up our deer and antelope season, and we have had an amazing year. Here is a small sampling of the pictures that we will get up within the next few weeks. As we get the photos from the guides, we will get all the pictures up. Check back soon for pictures of the 29 1/2″ mule deer just taken! Oct. 13, 2006

Next Up–Let the Elk season begin!

We killed our first elk of the year on Oct. 21–we have 3 more to go! We are down to our last two mule deer hunters. Oct. 22, 2006

We’ve finished up our big game season, going 4 for 4 on our elk hunters, 38 out of 39 on our antelope, and 26 out of 26 on our mule deer. We had our first ever Grand Slam, and also our first ever overseas hunters–coming all the way from Essex, UK!November 19, 2006

Thanks to everyone that has been out so far this season, and looking forward to meeting those of you still coming!

Here’s the big 29 1/2 inch mule deer shot by Jeff H. on October 9, 2006. We couldn’t decide which deer was bigger, so we put two mule deer in the

Free Range Bison Hunt
“The New Yorkers” with three great bull buffalo. I’m glad all three dropped so close to each other that we were able to fit them into the picture (along with a little help from Danny and Gary-o.k., a lot of help). The Rockin’ 7 will never be the same since you guys were here, but you are welcome to come back–anytime!!
Wyoming Predator Hunts
Heather R. with a huge coyote killed on October 17, 2006. This coyote had to weigh over 50 pounds, and had the thickest pelt I have ever seen! It came within 50 yards, and Heather’s .270 took the big dog with very little pelt damage.

Wyoming Grand Slam Hunting Lodge
Congratulations to Curtis Marks of Windermere, Florida for completing the first Rockin’ 7 Grand Slam!! Curtis shot all four of these trophies with 6 days of hunting. He also shot some Hungarian Partidge, Sharp-tailed grouse, and narrowly missed adding a coyote. All this, and he still had time to educate Joel and I in a game of Texas Hold’em. Thanks Curtis, it was a pleasure having you!

“Hungry” Howard Ashforth, Paul McCudden, and Kevin Drakes all from Essex, UK (70 miles east of London) with an excellent coyote hunt. Our first hunters from overseas, these guys knew what to do when it came to shooting coyotes. On a 6 day hunt, they killed 9 coyotes, and saw over 30. It was a pleasure having you guys, and although a 12 hour flight is a long ways to come for shooting coyotes, we hope to see you again!
